hey,
I applied for Ross preferred admission, but have heard nothing about it! I got into LSA though.

I always advise applicants for the pre-admit program to be patient. First of all, fewer than 15% of those who apply for pre-admit status actually get it, so the odds aren't good. Secondly, Ross will wait until March to evaluate most candidates because many of Michigan's top applicants don't send their applications in until Feb 1st, and aren't admitted into LSA until March. Given the limited number of offers Ross will make (roughly 100 our of 750+ candidates), they will want to wait and see all the applicants at the same time.

I got into UMich as a transfer student.

What's the process in getting in to Ross? I know it's quite competitive...

a couple of my classmates and I got into Ross already, but some are still waiting...we all applied before november 1st, our college cousellors made sure of that....So i think they still have a lot of decisions to make

op, you won't hear until late spring/summer

chanman..again..not true...

for me, at least.

I shouldn't have made it a bold statement.

"For me, I didn't hear back until late spring/summer".

Most of the class heard around March 20th or so last year... as I recall. If the postings follow last year, you should see a lot of CC activity within the next week or so.

Okay. are decisions sent out by mail?

its email i believe

email followed by mail that's what happened

I doubt if anyone will hear in late spring/summer. Ross pre-admit is to compete for the top applicants. I bet all decisions are sent before April 1, if not sooner.

Has anyone figured out for certain when the Ross pre-admits will be notified?

as i said, they have been notifying people all along...

Last year, a few people heard well into April. I expect the yield fell a bit shy of the goal, so they added a few to the pool.

hmmm, so soon? do they email if you are rejected, or do they do the whole only by mail thing that they do with normal decisions?

hey...im an international ...even ive applied for the preferred admission program and really do not expect to get in given the that theres 2% internationals who do:P

nyways so just wanted to confirm...theres no SPECIFIC date for the decision notification for this program???

you could be hearing any time now....it could me tomorrow, it could be 2 weeks. I think they will want to get them out ASAP though since the applicants are the most competitive and so they want to let them know before they start locking in with other schools.

anyone hear yet??? like recently.

do i have to keep repeating myself? Yes. i know at least 4 of my classmates and I are already accepted, like long time ago. But none of them are going (except for me), they are like super qualified and 1 of them got a likely letter from multiple ivies. This might be a different case coz U-M might simply look at the pile of apps from my school and make all decisions at the same time.
