It turns out that this time Ross is aiming for a pre-admit class of 100 (compared to 70 last year) because of so many qualified applicants.

I think they admitted 115 last year in their pre admit program , with 62 enrolling.
However last time they received 715 applications compared to the 2300 this year .
I do remember someone on this website , who had talked to Ross Admissions , saying that they were aimng for a class of around 100 this year. But they also said they would admit only in the low 100's which is the same as last year - and if the same enrollment rate is considered they would end up with 70 odd again.

Who told you they received 2300 apps? I thought they had received a little more than last year? Where did you get this info?

dulce, it was in the email they sent to notify me of my rejection...

It is information certified by the admissions office in the email. If you thought they received more than last year , you thought wrong.

i got pre-admitted to ross but i was wondering what the advantage to this is besides less stress your freshman year. they accept like half of those that apply then and like 90 percent from those that are in honors their freshman year. i mean i dont really see what the big deal is besides the fact that it is obviously very selective, so i dont think people should be devestated to not get the pre admit because they still have a very good chance.

From what I heard at campus day, Ross tries to integrate all the PA's into the school during their freshman year through seminars, meetings, advisors etc..

They do have a good chance - I dont see anyone who is devestated.
By the way your statistics are wrong. 90% of Honors students who apply to Ross get in. Its not 90% of Ross students are Honors students.

For all the benefits of the preferred admit program which offers security refer to a thread by Andhryosis2000 in the University of Michigan forum. I do not recall the title but you would find it on the second or third page.

tedleo, whether you got in as a pre-admit can make all the difference when deciding which college to attend. If you were going to Michigan anyway, it might not matter as much. But not many people would want to risk Michigan (assuming no pre-admit) if they got into a comparable business school.

Rejected from the pre-admit program (though I did get into LSA), but I got into the Stern Scholars program so I'll be going there. Congrats to those who got in!

the stern scholars program is very prestigious. congrats!
