ROTC scholarship question

Alright, I am on the NWL for West Point, but I also have a full four year Army ROTC scholarship to my first choice school. However, It says I must reply by March 23 whether or not I accept.

I want to accept it in case the academy route doesn't work out, but if I get accepted to the USMA would my acceptance of the scholarship be waived? Or if I got into any service academy for that matter including USCGA and USNA.

I know I probobly won't hear before March 23, but I also know ROTC scholarship tend to be taken away quickly in cases of indecision (where a candidate doesn't respond in time, requests more time to respond, or waits until the last minute). Obviously schools only want to give out scholarship to those who intend to matriculate.

Any help, guidance, or directions is appreciated.

You sure it's not "Accepting the Scholarship Nomination, and you can decline it later." That's what the Navy's Scholarship is like.

Snipes,

Any ACTIVE duty program supercedes a reserve one, which ROTC is. Say you were to go enlist, put yourself on the delayed entry program, and West Point would offer you admission...the offer from West Point outdoes pretty much any other offer. I had a friend who enlisted to show West Point how committed he was (he was gonna go in anyway) and got an offer from West Point and then went in...So, if I were you (and I did the same thing with an NROTC scholarship) send the card back, and wait to hear from USMA. That little card don't mean a thing until you show up. It isn't legally binding in any way.

awsome, thanks for the help guy. I'll get that sent off then.
