ROTC scholarship Questions

<p>Hi, I'm a junior interested in USNA and USMA and some NROTC/ROTC schools. I have a few questions about ROTC but I think they apply to NROTC as well.</p>

<p>If I apply for my scholarships by..lets say the beginning of August. Would I hear back with enough time so I wouldn't have to apply to the schools where I don't receive a scholarship?</p>

<p>Both the NROTC and ROTC the websites say to apply to 5 schools for the scholarship. I'm only interested in 2 NROTC and 2 ROTC schools. Do I have to add 3 more schools for the scholarship process? If I do, am I obligated to actually apply to those schools? Like if I get the scholarship to the schools I don't plan to attend, can I just reject it?</p>

Thank God you didn’t decide to apply to the AFROTC.</p>

<p>FWIW - My daughter is a current high school senior and applied to all three ROTC programs…and was awarded scholarships to each. So…I have just gone through this process. Also, I have a son who is in the same grade as you (a year behind my daughter) who is applying to both the Air Force & Navy academies and ROTC programs.</p>

Our experience=D got her NROTC scholarship in Nov to her 1st choice school. She was able to apply just to that school via regular decision. Note she did have the NROTC application completed 8/1 and still listed 5 schools on the application.</p>
