I thought you had to sign up for it already, and I was waitlisted and thought I couldn't get in it even though I am interested in it... I read in the academic guide that all students will have an opportunity to sign up for it in August... does anyone have any more information about signing up for it?

also, what are the benefits of it?

I think that you still may be able to apply for a scholarship, but you have to get assigned to ND with your scholarship and those spots go fast. Call your local recruiters and see what they say, their numbers should be on their respective services websites. If you don't have a scholarship, you can still go in as a college option. College option means that you are given no benefits, but can still participate in the ROTC program for the first two years without a commitment. If I were you, I would give it a shot, because after the first two years, they will pay for your last two.

As far as scholarship benefits go, I am going Navy, and I have all of my tuition paid, along with travel, a monthly stipend and money for books and fees. Also, the Navy will pay for my study abroad. Some people can get the Navy to pay for Med school, Law school or grad school after they graduate from ND. After ND, I will have a 4 year active duty commitment to the Navy. It is really is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to serve.

The scholarship students have to arrive a week early for an orientation week, but I don't know about the College Option students. If you are interested in the Navy or the Marine Corps, PM me, and I'll get you in contact with the Officers in Charge.
