This is going to sound mean, but I think you need to take a big slice of humble pie. Despite what you’ve been telling us, your application could not have been perfect. There’s always, always more you could have done, either in terms of your application, or throughout high school. I go to large, public school where many students are admitted into Ivies and top-ranked liberal arts colleges. I have heard of kids doing some truly amazing things. I’m continually shocked by the level of accomplishment and success reached by many of my peers. So I’m happy for every single one of my acceptances, and I take nothing for granted, because I know exactly how accomplished my competition is. It might be hard for you to gain perspective in a small, private school, but I’m telling you: there are always kids who simply did MORE.

Also, Wake Forest is currently ranked 25th in the nation. Let me put that in perspective for you: 25 out of the 4000 institutes of higher education in America. You sound like an intelligent person; you can probably do the math there. You HAVE succeeded. Don’t get so caught up in the name brands.

OP: I think you are really fortunate to get accepted to Wake which is a very good school. You dont how many students with credentials similar to yours would be extremely glad if they were accepted into Wake or similar schools.

If you spend enough time on CC, you will find that there are so many other students with better stats, ECs, etc who were not accepted into a very top school.

You have strong desire to get into an Ivy school. So are tens of thousands of other students. I think most of them will be hugely disappointed tomorrow when results are released.

Also, I dont see any school you have applied to is a true safety school. That is why I think you are very fortunate.

I just got accepted at a top 20 school, you guys! FORGET ABOUT THIS THREAD! FORGET ABOUT MY PETULANCE! I’m sorry for being an *******!!! I’m bowing out.

I think the OP received admittance into Emory #20.

She was wait listed at Emory -Oxford College which had tougher standards, but was probably admitted to the university.

Still… Wake Forest vs Emory??? We’re splitting hairs here. Both are excellent schools.

They are, but since OP didn’t seem to be enamoured with Wake Forest, I guess it’s a good thing.

If I were to choose which school (Wake or Emory) to attend, I would consider what I plan to study and how much FA I receive.

Overall, there isn’t much a difference between the two.
