<p>What day is the earliest move-in day? I need to give my employer a date that I won't be available to work anymore. This is important, so please help! </p>

<p>It depends-the general move-in date is August 20th (however, I've heard that if your last name is towards the end of the alphabet, you have to move in on the 21st-I don't know whether or not that info is correct. Oh, and one of the housing coordinators said that the general move-in date is Aug. 19th-who knows, though). If you're doing the Aug. 18-19 PittStart, you will have the option of moving in on the 18th. If you are doing the honors orientation, you can move in on Aug. 16th. It really just depends on the person and what he/she is going to do when he/she gets to Pitt this summer. (hope I was of help!).</p>

<p>Are you sure the move-in date is the 15th for honors students kcarls? My email said the 16th and we already made our hotel reservations.</p>
<p>Last year the honors move-in was that Saturday. Doesn't mean it will be the same but I'd bet on the 16th fro Forbes.</p>
<p>I think we're having a bit of a misunderstanding here. The honors college is hosting a retreat before the freshman orientations start (I got an information letter about a week ago); if you go on the retreat, you are allowed to move in on the 15th, regardless of where you will be living. Otherwise, you just move in at the same time as everyone else (unless another program made a similar arrangement). I don't know anything about the general move-in day for Forbes (didn't apply), but maybe this was the source of the confusion.</p>
<p>^^^Ah, I see-I should have specified. If you're a person who will live in Forbes and are doing the honors orientation (not necessarily the honors retreat, too), the move-in day is (more-than-likely) Aug. 16th (and, of course, Aug. 15th for anyone who will attend the honors retreat).</p>

<p>My guess is that the honors retreat is for those who interviewed for the Chancellor's scholarship and those who actually one. In the past that retreat has taken place offsite at a campground maybe? Those students may or may not be living in Forbes. If you do not fit that group but are in the honors college AND are living in Forbes then you CAN move in on the 16th and participate in that orientation.</p>
