Rounding out the list

I'm having a little trouble narrowing down to a list of ~10 colleges. My intended major in college is Economics, and I might try to get into a BBA program sophomore year (while still majoring in Econ). So I'd like some help with my college list. Here's what I have so far:

Safety:
Indiana
Wisconsin (Low Match)

Match:
Michigan
NYU (Stern)-High Match (not sure yet)

Reach:
UPenn (Wharton)
Stanford
Yale

Now I need some schools that would help me fill out this list to 10-12 schools. I don't really need any more safeties, as I think those would be the best for me, but I could use some matches and reaches (but if you think that there would be a good safety feel free to suggest). As for what I would like in a college: I want a good education, but at the same time a fun environment, Preferably a medium/large school.

Here are my 'stats':
Michigan Resident
W GPA: 3.83/4.00
UW GPA: 3.63 (upward trend)
Toughest Courseload Possible.
Top 10(likely)-15(definitely)%. Very Good, large Public HS
ACT: 31
Essays/Recs-good

ECs:
Indian Student Union- President
Health Ambassadors (Co-founder)
Research Position/Assistant at Michigan
Orchestra- 4 yrs (top level orchestra for 2, section leader in 9th grade)
Private Violin Lessons
Spanish Honors Society
Worked as an election inspector in the '06 Gubernatorial Elections
40+ volunteer hours at the UM hospital
NHS- 17 hrs as of end of Jr year volunteer hrs
Attended Natl Young Leaders Conference
Attended Michigan Engineering Camp

Awards:
AAA Travel Challenge travel specific scholarship state finalist (top 5)
Solo and Ensemble- 2 (good) rating
National Honor Roll (?)
National Merit Commended, likely semifinalist. (Scores sent to Mich, Yale)

Misc: Can speak (not write all) 5 languages

Thanks for your help.

Northwestern is a reach, as it is for everybody, but it's 1) near-ish to Michigan, 2) a great school, 3) reputable in Econ (not sure about business), 4) very rah-rah and spirited, 5) a comfortably big school.

Plus they like well-rounded kids, which you seem to be.

---bump---

U of Chicago has one of the best economics programs of any college in the US. It would be a reach/ match for you.

USC has a very well-regarded business program, and ranks high on the "fun, spirited" scale.

UNC Chapel Hill, perhaps?

Brown, Chicago, Cornell, Georgetown, Northwestern or UVa.

Emory (reach/match) , U Maryland (safety)

Thanks..I was definitely thinking about Georgetown, NU, and UVA, I will look into Emory and USC. Any more people. Would it be worth it to go to any of those schools OOS if I got into Michigan though (except G'town, since I do like foreign affairs)? Ty.

"I want a good education, but at the same time a fun environment, Preferably a medium/large school. "

Check Duke - IMO similar to Stanford and Wharton but easier to get in slightly. Fun environment also. Also look at Northwestern.

Very few schools are worth going to over Michigan for in-staters, unless other schools give out significant aid or schilarship money. Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford and Yale are probably the only universities in the country that are better than Michigan, and even then, only by a small margin. Paying $100,000 more over years to attend one of those schools is hard to justify, but if one has the financial support, it can at least be rationalized. But spending 6 figures more for an education of equal quality makes no sense, especially since Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan offer an undergraduate experience that is hard to beat.
