Route 2

Here is an odd question but one that I've heard mentioned before: From the online map of Williams, it seems that the road "Route 2" basically splits the campus in half. Is Route 2 "a major east–west state highway in Massachusetts" in Williamstown, or is just basically a large road? I visited Williams and loved the campus, but didn't really remember any huge road. Does Route 2 separate the two parts of campus physically or is it just a road?

Also, could you chance me for Williams and:

Although I haven't read the teacher recs themselves, I'm sure they are fantastic. My history teacher really liked me and my math teacher enjoyed how I taught the class how to graph sine waves using Excel (I hope/think she referenced this)

My essay is about how I used to hate visiting my grandfather because he has no modern technology. It was only after his death that I realized I had been blinded by 21st century material possesions. My AP lit teacher said it was an excellent essay and she said she praised it more than she typically praises an essay....

Route 2 is a two lane “no-passing” main road running through town. There are a couple of red lights…your basic main street in a very small town…it’s lovely. I haven’t been there in 30 years–since my college days (but not at Williams), but your post made me curious so I checked it out on Google maps. You can get to the street level and see for yourself. Nothing has changed as far as the size of the street goes. Best of luck at getting in!

Wildwood is right–Route 2 does run through the middle of the campus, but it’s just a regular road. If you’re coming from Albany or other points West, it’s the main route through the Berkshires–still two lanes and no passing, but is twisty and up-and-down hill. Well cleared in the winter.

traffic a little busier in leaf peeping season, but there is no sense when you’re on campus of being in a heavily trafficked area or anything. It’s really not a big deal.
