Rowan Honors program..

@ QueenJackie, Honors program and hopefully a financial aid package will be inspiring DD’s boyfriend. May I ask,if you are in state…is the Binghamton price comparable to Rowan & TCNJ?

We are in state - no doubt Rowan is the best deal financially (11k/yr merit at Rowan vs. 5k/yr TCNJ, vs. 5k/yr Binghamton, plus Binghamton out of state tuition is basically double in-state tuition). I think his perception is that he will be better off at a more competitive school (not that there’s a huge difference, but in his mind there is). Aside from the obvious cost savings, my opinion is Rowan is a better choice if he’s in honors. This is why the waiting is so hard! Good luck to you guys - it’ll be great when the wait is over one way or another!

nothing in today’s mail

@QueenJackie WOW!!! $11k merit!?!?! that’s awesome! we only got $3,500

Any money from a state school is good money, I think! Some of it included micro scholarships, I think - something he learned about on the tour. Still nothing good in the mail today, though.

I still haven’t gotten a full FA package from Rowan or notification about the honors program. Glad to see I’m not the only one waiting.

accepted students reception is about a week away. i sure hope we hear at the least before then

I don’t think Ive even gotten notification about the Accepted Students Reception! When is that?

@ladygriff i’m sorry i should have been more specific. April 1st is accepted ENGINEERING students day. I do not know when the other is

@ladygriff Accepted Students Reception is this Sunday, 3/26 at 10 am. A notification got sent snail mail a few weeks ago. Maybe there’s still space available. The instructions said to email rsvp@rowan.edu and put “3/26 Reception” in the subject line. Provide name, address, phone number, and number of guests attending. Or call 877-RU-ROWAN.

@jjmom1 Thank you so much! I don’t remember seeing that mail at all–going to see if I can contact them. Thanks again

@ladygriff @jjmom1 we attended a accepted students reception on 3/20 actually without our daughter (big AP assignment due) to gather whatever information we could, since we already responded ‘yes’ we decided to go. While we were there, we found out there are about 10 of these receptions scheduled for accepted students, and they get sent out by invitation only.
a decent presentation about the school…and a very nice spread of sandwiches and salads
also, they handed out your financial aid letters …

@mommabear67 ahhh if it’s invitation only… ok, that makes more sense to me. Really appreciate all the information, thank you.

Hmmm…wondering when financial aid letters will come if you don’t attend Accepted Students Day? My DD’s boyfriend won’t be attending Accepted Students Day (or Rowan) if the money doesn’t line up. Ugh!!

Nothing in our mailbox today about the Honor’s program. We live in central NJ but mail from Rowan seems to take forever to get here. D’s acceptance letter was mailed on 1/4 and she didn’t receive it until 1/12. Her scholarship info was mailed on 1/9 and she received it on 1/11 (the day BEFORE she got an acceptance!). Go figure.

Anyone get any snail mail today from Rowan Honors?

nothing here… i kinda want to call the honors program, but refraining because we were actually told it would by at the end of March…it’s still within that time frame… the waiting is the hardest part!

Would be great I’m sure you’ll agree, if they would assume the latest that they could be done, and then add a day or two, and then tell us that final date. And if they happen to get it to us earlier which they should if they over estimated, then everyone’s happy and the scheduling would be on spot. There’d be no frustrations over a guesses that it might be today, and then nothing happens, and keep repeating this everyday.
