The Major I would Like to major in is Computer Science. Im really scared im not good enough for these schools. The schools in interested in are Rowan, NJIT, and William Paterson. Could I get in?
The thing im most scared about is the class rank, does it matter a lot. Mines pretty bad
@Cstilwell No I don’t think its a big deal. NJIT is a pretty tough school though and Comp Sci is a competitive major there. I would make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before you choose to enroll. I think you have a decent shot at rowan, and I think you will be admitted. If you can raise your SAT to a 1150 or a 1200 then I think you will be locked in. Would you rather attend Rowan or NJIT? You could try Ramapo as a reach also.
@SternBusiness I’m in a tough spot. Rowan was a nice campus and all but they are just a college in nj, njit on the other hand has a highly respected cs major and all. How I stand now which college do you think I have a better chance getting into without changing anything.
I know what I’m getting into majoring in cs and have took classes in school as well has online
your SATs are average for Rowan and William Pateson, but I’m going to assume that you’re instate(hello i am from new jersey too) which could work to your advantage. you’re slightly above the 25th percentile for njit so you’re average for them too but not by much. SATs aren’t everything though. write a killer essay and i think you have decent chances
@kelika yes I am! Do you think being white will help since I read most people attending the school are Indian and Chinese. And also how does my GPA look with a 3.35. I know it will go up a good amount with the classes I’m going to take this year
No, there isn’t any “reverse” URM going on, plenty of white kids at all the schools you mentions. I don’t think anybody will consider Asians a URM, or Asians making whites a URM.
@rhandco NJIT is the school i was talking about. What is your view on this conversation, from the grades, standardized scores, ect do you think i can get into Rowan or NJIT.
