Is this open now? Feedback on how it adds to campus?
Much of it is completed, but construction is ongoing.
Barnes & Noble bookstore, which serves as the college bookstore. Rowan merchandise for sale. Also a Starbucks. Numerous eateries for students and visitors. Hotel. New offices and student apartments. During the summer weekends, there are events; in the winter, there’s an outdoor skating rink. Angelo’s Diner across the street is a mainstay. It’s added a lot, and more is to come.
I also foresee an expansion of campus west on Route 322 toward Route 55. There’s already a Tech Park there.
@SpacemanEd So it is located between campus and downtown?
@BatesParents2019: It’s become difficult to tell where campus ends and “downtown” starts.
If you’re from the area or went to GSC, they’ve bulldozed Main Street (Rt. 553) to High Street (the old “downtown”). Rowan Boulevard links them. Delsea Drive (Rt. 47), has really been built up as well. Lots of choices for parents and visitors.
And, as I mentioned, the old peach/apple orchards west of the present campus will soon make way for more construction. I have a feeling that athletics will soon move there to make way for more parking, academic buildings, and student housing on the current campus.
My student just moved in and the BN Bookstore is fantastic! Campus still a bit chopped up, but lots of potential here.
Huge progress on Holly Point (the new dorm) and Rorer (new Business building). Campus is shaping up beautifuly.
