hey all, just wondering if anybody knows just how much top schools such as yale or harvard really recruit skilled rowers. sub 6:40 ltwt 2k erg for any of those who understand the lingo (im a junior). Grades and SAT's are all very respectable, but i was wondering if anybody could attempt to sort out just how much this EC helps!
thanks!

all i know is that a friend of mine who has played basketball and golf all high school became a recruited rower for stanford having never done it before. he's a really big guy (incredibly strong) with longs arms and that's apparently all the coach needed to see. he got into stanford early and is going to do crew there. i'm afraid i can't speak to the ivies.

i forgot also an ex girlfriend of mine is going to indiana as a recruited athlete for crew (she's a coxswain).

i remember reading a post about some guys friends who got into princeton because of crew with an 1100 and 1300. I dont know what people row 2k at HYP, but anything under 7 is really good in my book.
