Rowing Crew as a Transfer?

<p>Hello CC'ers!</p>

<p>I would like to transfer into a four year institution in my Junior year(top choices are Brown, Columbia GS, and Cornell). I would also like to row crew for these schools, but I have no rowing experience whatsoever. Could I still join the team and train, or is there just no chance of training/joining the crew team as a transfer student with no experience?</p>

<p>It’s possible, though it would be extremely difficult to walk onto a a varsity sport that you have never even done before. I guess they may have a novice team for people who are just learning (that’s how they do it at my school) and then you may move up to varsity if you’re good enough. </p>
