Ok, this is the brand new Life Sciences and Management program. And it sounds freaking cool. So why is no one else on here applying to it?

i'm applying to it....The Vagelos program is EXACTLY what I'm planning on doing anyway (major in Biochem, minor in Econ); it's perfect for me.

most ppl here seem to be applying to the huntsman and jerome fisher programs.

Yeah, those are older and more prestigious. How long is your essay on why you are interested in it?

about a page single spaced...i don't have much business background, so I hope that my interest got through

Yeah, mine's looking to be about that length. Although it's more about my interest in pharm sci than life sciences in general.

That should be fine, I think.

Penn's looking like my top choice if I get into the Vagelos program....it looks so cool! :D

Heh, I'm just concerned about getting into Penn. People have swung from one end of the spectrum to another on my p. 217 essay, so I have no idea what to expect :(

my p217 essay is just an adjustment of my common app essay, which was unique, but not spectacular. I've stopped worrying about getting into places since i got tons of money from UMich...so any acceptances from here on out are just more brightly wrapped presents.

I've also stopped taking advice about major changes to my essays, because I feel like my gut feeling usually works best. I've told people only to edit grammar, sentence structure, wording etc.

Ahh, yeah, it would be nice if I got in somewhere so I could stop worrying. But no, stupid Stanford had to go and defer my ass until April.

And see, even when I don't listen, people telling me my essay needs this change or that made to it, makes me insecure.

Add Harvard to the stupid list. grrr...

I think i'm mildly overconfident, but whatever, I did my best. Colleges who don't accept me will just regret their loss later. :D

Heh, yeah, honestly, if I had 200K, I would have applied ED to Penn in a heartbeat. So screw Stanford. We're the future of Big Pharma:D

lol..screw all of HYPS...they're far too elitist for my taste anyway. Especially Princeton..that place scares me.

Haha, why Princeton? Harvard is so scarier:(

Cambridge saves Harvard from being the scariest place in America.
The preppiness at Princeton is SO much more obvious than at Harvard because it's not in/near a big city. Plus...Princeton is so...white-washed...

This is true. The WASPiness is overwhelming.
