Enjoy =)

Thanks, cesium55, I’ve already rsvped, I was just wondering if anyone else was going. Are you attending?

Oh whoops, somehow I completely misread your original post =)

I won’t be there =(. I just graduated from RPI last spring, so I’m not even going to be able to help out.

However, there will be a lot of good people there, so I highly recommend showing up!

We went last year.

My S didn’t end up accepting RPI’s offer of acceptance - but good luck to you!

Does anybody know if medalist selections can still be made for the Class of 2012?

My school has not yet awarded the RPI medal for the class of 2012 and I emailed RPI about it and they said it’s not too late and to talk to my guidance counselor ASAP! Good luck to both of us :)

My parents can’t afford for me to go to NY and my school started 3 weeks ago. Is it possible to still get a certificate or the actual medal? THAT MEDAL LOOKS AWESOME!!!

@kevinkyukim, you only actually receive the medal if you are nominated, AND you are accepted to RPI, AND enroll at RPI.

The nomination is just the first step.

aww i really want that medal! (rpi isnt that high on my list atm)

Can any medalist confirm that there is a streamlined app with fee waiver for medalists this year? And was this sent to you by mail, email, or what?

I just got selected as medalist (for class of 2012) a few days ago but haven’t received any notice so far from RPI.

Yes they let you use something called candidate’s choice application.

Candidates Choice Application can be used by anyone who receives the email-it is not just for the medalist-it is a shortened app-actually my son and i wondered if it was really worth it since RPI will take the common app

I don’t have any data to support my theory, but if your son is at all borderline for RPI, I’d do the Candidates Choice Application. It shows a higher level of interest in RPI than hitting submit on the common app for one more school. That may make a difference if a tough decision.
