My son got into computer engineering, but also was accepted into comp eng at UIUC. RPI seems like a great school, but not sure if it’s better than UIUC for comp eng, so he’ll prob go there. But glad he got in,

@anonymous_otter127 Since you’re architecture, maybe it was your portfolio?

Congrats to everyone who got in!!!

Does anyone know if it’s a bad sign that I don’t have any merit scholarships yet lol

Congrats to everyone else who got in! I am not sure if I can attend if I don’t get any scholarships.

To those of you who didn’t get in: Don’t feel bad! I was also denied by one of my top choices and waitlisted by others.

I’ve no idea if I would attend. Without PR status it’s kinda wierd to work in the US after graduation, so I plan to continue to grad schools and spend a couple of years in the labs. I’m not sure if a undergrad degree from RPI would give me any advantages on that.

Does anyone know if the merit awards were all released yesterday? I see financial aid awards are not out yet for most.

Accepted Computer Engineering ! SAT 1430; UW 3.70; W 4.0; lots of clubs & honor societies. Best of luck to everyone. Merit at $18k a little light, so while a top pick with an awesome campus, program, and student body, money now a factor.

wow! that is awesome. is 43K per year or total?

Can anyone explain if the Leadership awards are pure merit or mixed merit and need?

There was a comment last year in the 2021 RD thread I believe that aid continued to rollout in the days after thebaccepetances so it’s not clear if this is it, or not.

So I just found the answer to my own question. Leadership awards are merit and do not increase or decrease.

Search In the RPI site for the “student guide to financial aid”.

Okay but is it still possible to get merit awards? For those of you that got merit awards was it included in the financial aid letter or was it in the acceptance letter? If it’s in the former I think we will find out with our need based aid.

The leadership scholarship amount is listed in the financial aid letter not the acceptance letter.

@voyagermom did you get a full financial aid write up? Not just merit? I’m trying to figure out if my son might still have money (any kind) coming from them, and if not it’s off the table.

I got accepted with a 90 W, 1410 SAT not superscored

Heavily involved in indoor track, outdoor track, and my school’s key club (200+ hrs)

Teacher’s letter of recs: 9/10
Essay and supp: 9/10
APs: 4

Although these low stat line, I think they still accepted me because my school is ranked 26th in the nation so they understand that it’s challenging to get good grades

Also I received 7k award for leadership and a 15k school grant
