What is the “Student Reported Scholarship?” It says our daughter got $10K for that but she never reported any such scholarship. Weird!
Congrats to all!
That’s wonderful. What was her GPA and ACT score? Thank you.
When do they notify you if you’ve been taken off the waitlist and accepted, or haven’t? Or at least, what is the last possible they will notify. Is it before May 1st?
@Sam4818 Scroll down past the admissions letter, there are 2 links at the bottom with aid info Congrats to your D!
Son accepted in mechanical engineering. $32K in merit scholarships. So proud of him! But he will need to weigh his return on investment. We live in NJ and he received a merit scholarship to NJIT which would bring his cost per year down to $20K per year vs. $36K for RPI.

@gymnast9261 Thank you. I don’t see any links on the bottom of the admission letter. Does this mean we didn’t get any and have to pay full price? RPI is pretty expensive. Also the acceptance letter does not mention the major but the applicant portal says Major : Architecture.
Congratulations to all admitted and wait-listed. If you have questions ask RPI and do not accept generic answers. I always prefer e-mail so there is a written record and one does not play phone tag. Sometimes questions require some thought to answer correctly. The phone does not lend itself to this.
Read the poly poly.rpi.edu This is the student newspaper. If I got the link wrong google rensselaer polytechnic newspaper. You can also check the poly archives to see what has happened based on a student’s perspective.
Ask for copies of the presentations etc made during the accepted student days. This will help you take notes and not miscopy key information.
Consider just visiting during GM week the week of Student Government Elections to see what is going on. Introduce yourself to students and ask if they can answer a few questions.
Determine if it feels write compared to other schools.
That’s how I made my final decision many years ago (I will not answer how many except to say it was more than 20). I never regretted it.
All the best.

Detailed, large portfolio
Son accepted Aero Engineering. 33 ACT, 3.4 W GPA. Scholarship offered at $18,000 per year. He has committed to Purdue so the question I am about to ask is just curiosity. Does RPI consider financial need as a component of merit money? We will get no financial aid (not a complaint) but other schools offered much more merit money than RPI, so I am just curious as to why RP offer was relatively lower than others from same reputation schools.
Sorry, I meant 4.3 GPA

Yeah, son got accepted to CS!
Son got accepted as well no merit is showing any advice on where to look in case we are missing something .
Now it’s down to do we ask for additional financial aid or not? He did get a nice merit scholarship but due the sticker price I was hoping for more.
Daughter got accepted to electrical engineering. $36,600 in merit award. SAT 1540 GPA above 4.0 but not sure how much.
Congrats to all accepted!!!
