Son Accepted for Comp Sci with $19,000 Rensselaer Leadership Scholarship.
Accepted for engineering w/ $25k off from the leadership award. Is that $25k for the first year only or will it apply every year?
@lakergirl6232 No email but received the reminder.
@parent2001 Im just wondering is that scholarships &grants or just scholarships?
@Sam4818 We do have the financial aid info on the bottom. Did you get the info with the cost of attendance. It is broken down there too. My son was also accepted and it doesnât state major on the letter. Not sure if that is normal or not.
My sn was accepted.
Computer Science, 95 unweighted, 103 weighted, 12 apâs, 5 CL, NMF, 1520 sat.
received $2,000 leadership scholarship & grant $, but probably not enough looking at future pricing.
Also have 2 in college but only for 1 year so probably going to lose the grant.
Does anyone know if they do anything in additional for NMF?
Hi I was accepted however I do not see any information about Scholarships on my admissions letter page? It says on the website that the financial aid information will be posted in the upcoming weeks, but does financial aid information mean merit-based too?
I guess what I am saying is did I not get any merit-scholarships? I figured Iâd get some because of certain attributes of my application (Iâm not ready to say those at this time though).
Thanks!
Ugh. Waitlisted at RPI. It was our first choice
That sucks because I got in
Was your SAT better than 1370?

Guessing the scholarship is for only one year?
@lovemycats I looked and looked but I donât see any financial info on the acceptance letter. Not sure if its a glitch or we donât get merit aid???
My son was accepted in CS but donât see any links to aid so I am guessing he got nothing. If that is the case then it absolutely rules out RPI.
Daughter received decision letter and a separate financial aid award letter. Offered $38,000 scholarship for biomedical engineering. We are pleased!
@sugmanotation The letter doesnât specify criteria, like a certain gpa for keeping scholarship.
Usually merit scholarships are all 4 years as long as the student meets certain GPA requirements. You could probably search for your scholarship on RPIs website and it will have that information.
Son got into Biomedical Engineering. No merit listed yet, they are saying to check back and it will be posted anytime within the next two weeks. BU is still top choice, but that decision doesnât come for another 2-weeks.
Congratulation to all who have been accepted ! Your hard work has paid off. Merit scholarships are 4 years as long as GPA >2.0, which is much fairer than other schools, especially if you are in engineering. Many schools cut at 3.0 where you lose the $s or start to lose on a pro-rata. There are some academic violations where you could lose the money too. What is very nice is that money will continue if you continue for your masters after 4 yrs. Also, if you have not already considered this, compared to many schools, completing a dual major is easier to do at RPI. The structure of the major requirements really helps. I mean, itâs work, but between AP and less required humanity and social science requirement you can do it.
The PDF version of the acceptance letter will not have financial aid information. Financial aid link if any should be at the bottom of web version of the acceptance letter.
