RPI Decision Letters

I know that when I was looking for the right college for me, I used to spend time trying to find example acceptance/rejection letters. For those who care, here is RPI's Acceptance Letter:

can not forget to add the trumpet music...lol

The trumpet music was the school fight song, "Hail dear old Rensselaer.......", as performed by the pep band at many home and away athletic events.

Padre13- I didn't know that. That's pretty cool though. I've gotta say, the music was a nice addition!

Edit- does RPI mail decisions, too? If so, has anyone gotten their decision in the mail yet?

Haha yea. If you turn the volume up at the very beginning you can hear the guy say "Trumpets! 1, 2!" its awesome.

Also, WLed people can post their letters here so they can compare the Priority Waitlist and the normal Waitlist. Who knows? Maybe you guys will find an important difference!

That trumpet sound scared the crap out of me. I had my volume all the way up. Who knew acceptance letters came with an audio recording? lol

xxxxxxxxx

Dear xxxxx:

Thank you again for applying to Rensselaer. Due to the large number of applicants this year and despite your impressive record, we are currently unable to offer you a position in the Class of 2013. However, due to your outstanding credentials, we would like to offer you a place on our priority wait list until we are able to extend you a final admission decision. In order to reserve a place on this priority wait list, please complete the priority wait list response form.

I am grateful for your interest in Rensselaer and wish you success in your undergraduate college experience. It is my hope that we will be able to contact you to offer you a place in the class.

Sincerely,

donut- yea I was watching something on youtube when I opened it, and I heard this trumpet music. I was like ***?

i thought i remember reading somewhere that they do mail a package but i am not 100% certain

I remember that when I was trying to figure out how D was going to receive her decision that I went to the RPI site. There I had read that decisions would be MAILED on March 14. Again at that time, I could not find anything about the decision being released on-line. I am assuming that a copy is coming through the postal mail.

I got my acceptance letter in the mail a few weeks later

I got my acceptance letter in the mail today along with a booklet-type thing.

D got her letter in the mail today. Here is something weird - she applied to the school of architecture with a portfolio but there is nothing on the letter about the school of arch. Did she get accepted into that program or just into RPI but not that program? In addition her Fin Aid said it was for 4 years but arch is a 5 year program. You would think they would let you know one way or another about the arch program. Anybody else apply to this school and hear/not hear anything?

Our D applied to Architecture program, got the acceptance letter and booklet yesterday but no mention of acceptance into Arch. I called admissions and they said that if that is where she applied...than she was accepted into that program. Also, they noted that merit/financial aid was missing ( although on the web site it said that it would be mailed together ) was still to follow....

i also applied to architecture and nothing particular came in regards to architecture. Today i received my financial aid information...finally by the way.....i also received a sticker and hat in the mail as well.
