RPI Star Program?

Hi everyone. I got accepted into the RPI star program for 2010 and I'm having a hard time figuring out what they saw in me. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited for this and I'm already starting to get my things packed right now. But I'm just a bit confused because my grades are not as good as many of the students who attend the school to begin with. Maybe I do not believe in myself, I don't know. Just can anyone tell me what else they'd might consider? (Besides my race and gender. I am black and I am a girl)

I truly love the school. I visited it back in August and if I do get accepted when I apply in November, there's a high chance of me ruling all of the other schools out for this one.
When I applied for the program, I pretty much forgot about it. I seriously thought "Well okay, that is that. Let me get on with my life" But when my mom told me that I was accepted I thought she was lying. Then I almost cried and then tried to figure out what about myself made me unique vs other kids who were denied who probably had a 3.8 average and such.

Thanks for your time and patience :).

Im attending as well, maybe I’ll see you Thursday lol,and I think that they basically just wanted a diverse group. All they asked for were self reported gpa and sats right? In the online chat the host said attending the program means there is a really good chance of getting in. Im not sure how much of that I believe lol. He also said that there were 380 applicants and 120 ATTENDING. Not sure how many were denied.
