RPI vs. NU

Trying to decide between RPI and Northeastern. Majoring in chemical or biomedical engineering and looking to do a five year accelerated masters.

RPI - Great engineering program and reputation, but lacks possible language minors. Good internships and gave lots of merit aid. I feel like they’re a more nerdy atmosphere and as a girl the 30/70 F/M ratio may be to my benefit. Troy is an average city, but they really do have great programs.

NU - Reputation has definitely grown in recent years and has more diverse options of academic studies. Great co-op program but will cost about 10k more a year, although money isn’t the primary factor. A lot larger of a school and I may not stand out as much, but Boston is a great city.

Which option would make the most sense? All the RPI vs. NU posts have been from previous years and tend to criticize NU for a weaker past enrollment, but this seems to be a lot different in recent years.

I think I’d go with fit / your gut here. These are two very different school environments that lead to two very similar outcomes, so where would you rather be for four years in terms of socially and the whole academic experience?
