Rpi?

I'm really interested in applying to RPI. I believe I can get in
SAT - 2030 (720 math and 670-reading 640 writing (hoping to get higher))
GPA - unweighted 3.74..weighted maybe 3.9?
Secretary on science olmypiad, and in math and national honor society. You think ill get in?
Girl

Anyways, my question is how is RPI? social life? I'm a girl, and I was wondering hwo the greek system is... food... student life of RPI.
Anything information will help

Stress, I think you are a competitive candidate for RPI. I’m an alum and get updated fairly often on the admissions stats. They have not released the common data set for the class of 2015 yet but the average SAT is 1366/1600 and about 2000/2400. So your scores are inline for RPI as is your GPA.

You need to be somewhat careful in that the acceptance rate was about 38% for the last cycle. If they stay on current trend you can expect it to be even lower for the class of 2016.

Some people on CC think being a girl means automatic admit to RPI. That notion is incorrect. Overall I think if you increase those scores from 1390/2030 to say 1450/2100 you would go from “possible” to “likely”. Just my opinion.

Best of luck to you. I was on campus for homecoming and was quite impressed by the new facilities and programs. RPI is a great school and I hope you get in.

I’m currently a freshman girl at RPI, and I can tell you that the social life is fantastic if you are a girl. There are over 200 clubs on campus to choose from, and while I’m not very involved in any of them it’s nice to know they’re available. I am in a sorority though. There are 5 sororities here, but really only 3 that are social (and national). If you do come to RPI I would HIGHLY suggest that you go Greek. It’s like having fifty sisters that are all amazing friends and will be there for you no matter what, plus it’s a great way to make some close girl friends on a campus where you otherwise wouldn’t really see very many girls. If you’re not into partying that’s totally fine, but if you are and you’re Greek then there are always parties and things to go to on the weekends. (All sororities are dry, but there are 30 something fraternities and we go and drink with them.)

Food in Commons (closest to most of the freshman dorms) isn’t terrible but it gets old when you eat there every day. However there are 4 (maybe more?) dining halls to choose from and some have great food, it just might be a farther walk. We also have a Moe’s on campus where you can use flex dollars.
