I have too.

"how many people have done actual research work in the topic they specified?"

I have too.

I've been doing research in my field for a little over a year.

ah schemer, stop scouting out your competition =P

I have not (yet). I will this summer at U of M though.

i did for 2 summers = P

intelliot- i think it was suppossed to be around 70 or 75 spots

sonar, did you just contact a professor to do u of m research, or is it through a program?

contacted the professor

Hrmm.. I am doing a project that I have yet to get it to work, but I don't need extra help on it, because I can get it working without the need of a mentor. However, I chosed another topic which kind of interest me and I have made litte research on, and the mentor in this case will be a helpful figure.

I'm not sure if this will cause a problem. . . lol

Intelliot ~ I see that you are right, a few more posted at once. Maybe bumping to the top will encourage some more to do so?

Yes, certainly :)

bump.. anyone else?

sonar, did you have any previous research experience? or did you just say something like, hi i've read you papers, i'm intrested, gimme some research?

It helps if you already have some knowledge in the area, but a nicely written little email which politely asks if they would at least consider letting you do work under their supervision can also work.

yeah, i've hooked up with a doc and went in a couple of times. what exactly is the "hook" for these apps?

haha, no, I neither said that nor do I have any previous research experience. I have a feeling that my opportunity is extremely fortuitous. I spoke to a professor about a few things that I'd be interested in, and he spoke to a friend of his and he asked if I was interested. Also, I'm within comuting distance, etc, so that may have helped my case.

what's BM engineering?

Biomedical Engineering.

did the online app ask for two copies?
