"free time"? What is this concept you speak of........ I remember hearing of it in the long long ago, but now it is just the stuff of legends...... ahh junior year, so glad it's almost over.
Ummm in actuality in the small amount of free time that I like to sleep(an almost forgotten art), walk around the city with friends and/or girlfriend, rent movies, watch HBO(curb your enthusiasm anybody?), go to (or watch on TV) baseball games, eat at good restaurants, converse, and other nerdy activities(which I'd go into detail about, but I'm not sure these count as free time).

Truer words have only occationally been spoken, ZFrankel :-)
I do a few outdoor activities; biking, skiing, etc. but not very often. Reading is probably my favorite activity (science fiction fans, anyone?) Oh, and I have two regular extracurriculars, ballet and playing the piano. What about you, vanilea?

I just checked my email a few minutes ago and had a nice surprise :). However, the primary field of interest listed on the form with my name is my second field, so hmmmmmm...Not that I mind, it's probably easier to research anyway.

And just so I don't completely stray away from the current topic, my hobbies include: tennis (but I haven't played in...over a year :-/), movie-watching, hanging out, walking around aimlessly in my neighborhood, SLEEPING.

I love science fiction (ender's game, orson scott card <--totally awesome), watching TV while on the treadmill (woohoo multi-task; btw Frankel- my friends favorite show is curb your enthusiasm, I'm never seen it, but there is a first time for most things) However, like any science nerd, I rarely have much "free time", when I'm not studying for the AP like a good little student, there is the science fair project that always looms overhead...oh how i hate, yet am addicted to thee (intel coming up...woot). I enjoy talking to friends, although I sometimes find the whole "tell me who you like, and I'll tell you who I like" talk redundant and dull; I have a Theory of knowledge class, where we just basically debate issues (last issue we talked about was whether anything is random, and that was pretty heated).
I like to sleep, but that doesn't happen a lot, so to compensate for the lack of sleep, I guess I shall have to say, I like coffee as well (not strong but with sugar).
BTW, I'm female (in case you couldn't tell by the feminine name of vanilea), I was wondering the sex of some people who are going to RSI because they're screennames are ambiguous. I was also looking at some past data and saw that the ratio of male to female is slightly skewed and thought that that interesting, but not surprising.

Ana, i enjoy tennis as well too!

ZFrankel I hope you are not a Yankees fan.

which lectures are yall choosing??
~FrAnKeNsTeIn~

go bio and chem! (i hear that the physics ones were very.... interesting... though)

Chemisty and Physics all the way!
I'm female too, vanilea. I noticed the ratio of males to females too. It's interesting that most of the people corresponding on CC are girls, while at the actually camp there are about twice as many boys as girls. Maybe there is something in the myth that girls are more communicative.

"i hear that the physics ones were very.... interesting... though"
firedragon, how so? because right now it's between physics and bio for me, and i really want to take the more interesting class!

the physics lecturer was very interesting and hyper and explained studies that were not quite related to physics. I'm not quite sure that he will be back though.

All the lectures were interesting... choose the classes you like the best!

Thanks! The dilemma was that my project will probably be a combination of math and biology, so I was thinking of taking math and bio. But that's such a math-and-biology-filled summer, maybe it'd be better to try something new...Not that physics is "new", but it's not my best subject. Ahhh decisions!

Pierce-- bad news: I am a Yankees fan...... born and raised. I'm guessing you're a Sox fan, but I think we will probably be too sleep deprived/hard working at RSI to follow baseball as enthusiastically as we may like to. Anyhow, I doubt that baseball rivalries will be too much of an issue -- they are usually amusing distractions at best.
I also am having difficulty choosing the lectures: could any 05ers post on there experience with them(how they were, what you learn there). I think I am going to take math and bio, but I face an issue similar to that of Corina.

Oh and Vanilea, tell me who you like, and I'll tell you who I like. C'mon I'll keep it secret.......

Honestly, don't worry about the classes. For most Rickoids, they serve the (admittedly useful) purpose of introducing you to being lost during a math/science lecture. I took math and chem based on what coursework I'd done, although I didn't end up following a whole lot of either. Both were well-taught: math on prime numbers and chem on surfactants and surface tension and the like. (The latter got me an Intel interview question right... yippee!) Basically all of the lecturers are wonderful, but are trying to give you a glimpse into research in their fields rather than a general introduction. So it's hard to make an informed decision in advance. If you spend more than five minutes choosing, you're probably not doing anything useful.

The only thing you'll be required to remember from the lectures is what weird mannerisms the lecturer has, what dumb jokes he makes, etc., for a skit :) So don't worry about being lost--just choose something that sounds interesting.

Zfrankel, I will not only tell you who I like, but I will proclaim to the whole world the truth my deepest desires of love. Its time for every living being to know that I have an immense and uncontrollable desire for
...........................{Drum roll please}.........................

YOU!!!

............................................................................
Baby, you and I would add up better than a Riemann sum! ; D

What are you guys listing your screen names as? I think I'm just going to go with my real name, but I have some friends who say that I should put "yellowfury" to allude to both my race and awesomeness...hahaha...probably not going to happen.

Now back to AP studies...Yeah!

I am in off the alternate list.

Hobbies: reading(philosophy, fiction, short stories), math, programming, rugby, games(card games), and....procrastination.

I'd post my stats and such, but I've not the patience to fill out all those values. I've not done research before though :(

Oh, and I am quite liberal socially and I like keynes.

Congradulations!!!!

To any RSI '06ers: for one of my forms, the one with the filename as my real name, the file will not print. also, i get an error message when I open it in adobe, and when I scroll down past the first page and back up to the top again, the contents of the first page disappears.
Is this a problem for you guys, or is it just with my form?

i opened it just fine. However, I recieved an emaile saying dear international student, and I'm not an international study...unless you consider kentucky way out there...did anyone else experience this mix up?

Well Vanilea, I can't say it's unexpected: between my fast paced wit and undeniable animal magnetism, how could I expect you to resist. Re calculus references: Hey, are you a derivative, because I'd like to lay tangent to your curves? Also, not that I wasn't always looking forward to RSI, but now that I've finally found people who share the realization that calculus sexual humor is in fact funny I can't wait. And highskoolstudent, I had no such problems with any forms, I'd reccomend emailing Maite A.S.A.P. they seem to be pretty good with that stuff. Well, off to study SAT II's and watch my beloved yankees lose to the lowly Jays.
