Why are we keeping track of the number of people applying from each state? Does RSI accept only a certain number of students from each state?

What MD just jumped up to 5? You said they were applying from your school…could you give me an estimation of how qualified they are?

@Bioboy: One of them in my school is pretty unlikely to make it… but the other two have similar stats as myself which I posted earlier on in this thread

You guys, for some reason. After submitting the application online, the formatting is really really screwed up for the finished submission. Did this happen to anyone else?

@sadface: yeah it happened to me too, I heard that if you use IE it looks fine but ill stick to chrome. I just filled out the fields identically in the original form and printed out the pages.

hmmm, do you think anything will happen if i submitted the application three times? the two times i first submitted, the dates were wrong a little

I think somebody dropped Sophiax27’s count for NJ so I’ll add that back on.
I’m also from NJ!

Which fields are you guys applying to? I’m applying to Biomedicine/Biomedical engineering and Applied Mathematics, respectively.

hi , i’m canadian. is there no way that i can apply to RSI ? D:

I think that it is possible, but its too late now.

wait, they shouldn’t mind even if you submit it online more than once as long as you have the correct submission number on the one that you send, right? D: hopefully

@nolastudent: I don’t think there are technically quotas or anything, but there is evidence to suggest that, between two good students, they’re likely to pick the one from a not-yet-represented state rather than from a state that already has multiple people. Unfortunately I didn’t save my count from last year and I don’t want to recount all the locations, but I believe there were four people from each of New York and California and every other state had at most two people, mostly one (or none).

@Killzslayz: You’d apply as an international, but the process is completely different and I don’t think Canada sponsors anyone for RSI anyways. So the answer is probably no.

You’re all done now! Yay! Or at least hopefully you’re all done I’ll still be around to answer any questions you have along the way. Feel free to ask anything else about RSI that you’re curious about now that you’re not too busy freaking out over the application itself :D

I was under the impression that most people had read thier letters of recomendation. Is that the case?

No RSIuser, you are not supposed to read them.

My package was received by Angela according to UPS…I wonder who she is lol

@RSIuser; the idea of signing the seal of the envelope (I believe that most teachers do this for recommendations, mine all did) is that you cant read it, because if you do, then RSI will either notice that the envelope isnt signed, or, if you used the same envelope, that the signature doesnt match up as perfectly as it would if you hadnt “tampered” with it. In some cases, the teacher will actually offer to show it to you, before or after they have given you a copy of the letter in an envelope.

@atomicbaseball… do you know roughly how many people applied last year? do you think there will be less, as this is the first year where only juniors can apply?

I didn’t see where it said that the seals had to be signed. Are you sure that they have to sign them? One of my teachers didn’t.
