I don’t know who the women was who answered the phone at their Mclean office … she just said the notifications were going out the third week. You probably have better info than I do…

If some one else can call I 'd like to know if you get the same answer. Also anxiously waiting…

I would normaly think that the person in the office had made a mistake, but there is only one day in the first week of March. Its not looking good.

@ athomedad : I sincerely hope that you are wrong, but I really doubt that people make office mistakes like that, so I guess we’ll see and find out. When I called this morning, I was inclined to undoubtedly say that emails would at least go out tomorrow because Maite was taking some time or something. But now I’m unsure.

@ChrxswxN, it could have been worse. They could have sent the emails out today and sent you a rejection. Worst case senario, they send the emails out three weeks from now and its a rejection, but thats almost too awful to think of.

So basically it’s like a repeat of last year : Notifications mid-March. If notifications indeed do come out next week, anyone want bets on 3/14? :P

I think we should bet on weeks, not days. Heygirl says next week or so, and that sounds reasonable. If there has been a delay I still doubt that it will take them another three weeks. I hope everyone has backups so that they haven’t lost everything when they’re rejected. I don’t but thats because I think that I have a good chace of getting in (as dangerous as that is) and I couldn’t realy find an acceptable replacement for RSI. RSI is the only summer camp where you truely get to reseach.

WHAT i check this forum and find out that decisions are coming later?! :(

@RSIuser That’s not true, there are other really good summer programs also, such as SIMR, Clark scholars, Simons (Stony brook), etc. And even local programs can still be good and allow you to do real research. If you want to get REALLY committed to a specific research topic, it’d probably actually be better to contact a local professor so you can work during the year too. just my 2cents.

lol i kind of want to do a “chance me!” thing right now on this forum to see how much of a chance i have
and if y’all think its low, i should just stop worrying and face rejection

Find some way to distract yourselves until decisions come out! When I was waiting for MIT decisions to come out in December I took to making Pok

@atomicbaseball
MIT decisions? are you a senior?
oh nvm i see you went to RSI last year. thanks for posting a lot on this forum and helping all of us out!! :D
