Guys, I’ve realized that LEMMA: my girlfriend is the square root of -100.
PROOF: she is a 10 but also imaginary.

That is why I have decided to write about channeling my emotions to math, and my loving relationship with math. Thank you friends for believing in me. Now I finally picked out a topic. What is everyone else writing about?

Note: this post will not make sense to any new people unless you have read my old posts

Hi! I’m late on this thread, but I was wondering about my chances.
I have a 2270 SAT (770 M 730CR 770WR will probably retake) and a 237 PSAT (78CR 80 80). I Plan to take the ACT in February.
I have taken 3 APs, and got one 5 (APUSH) and two 4s (chem and APES). I’m currently taking 4 APs (Calc BC, Phys C: Mechanics, Bio, and English)
I have taken 2 SAT IIs: Chem (760) and USH (740- eww).
I have done the Siemens competition as a sophomore with my brother and we got Semifinalist. I have been involved in other clubs and have leadership roles, but I haven’t done much research. Will that hurt me? Also, I am from Alabama too! Any feedback would be nice.

@meaa7130 You have a terrible chances, just like the rest of us! I advise you apply anyways (because no one can expect to get in) and focus on your essays and your passion rather than your achievements.

@botherme what do you mean? Do they expect you to write at a college level? Probably. Do the application essays require the same attention as college app essays? Yes.

@meaa7130 Could you clarify what you mean by stats?

@daniiiiis The most important thing is to be honest and try and convey your passion. Also, don’t be afraid to admit that you are lacking some skill. I have almost no cs exp so I just said that.

@meaa7130 perfect scores are the best (y). Competitive depends on region. I.e. I’m from Utah so I had a 2350 SAT 800 math ii 790 bio. 4.0. Research 4 yrs. Isef isweeep. But its really based on where ur from.

@Pieater Thanks! I encountered some more questions: 1. Could I leave off my PSAT score and only put SAT? 2. Does "two distinct fields"of research mean two different sub-fields or like biology and computer science? Would biology and biochemistry be acceptable as distinct fields?

One more question: I’ve taken a bunch of college courses (upper division) and was wondering how I could list them as the application only lets you put down two “other” courses

@tooty44 Well, they will get your transcript anyways, so I would say just put either the two highest level math/science ones or the two that reflect your interests the most. I’m assuming “a bunch” means like 4 or 5 upper division math/science courses at most that are not already listed, so it shouldn’t be too hard to pick the ones that closest reflect your interests and save the rest for your transcript.
