RSI 2018

Usually 0-1, as somebody has to drop out for an alternate to get in, so it is pretty unlikely.

@PoyoKat I’m curious, what did the alternate email say?

Hey everyone! I’m from Southern Cal, and I’ve been following this thread for the last week (super anxious). I was accepted and am happy to answer any questions:)

Congrats @greenteacups! Would you mind posting/PMing your stats and/or why you think you got in? I thought I had a pretty strong application (though of course most RSI applicants did too :3) and I want to identify weak parts of my app. Thanks!

I was rejected. Kind of expected it. Not to upset bc I have gov school and hopefully girls state to look forward to!

Accepted

@taehyung are you Korean by any chance? Or Asian of any sort? Ur username is similar to my friends name lol

hi guys! I’m new here but have also been following this thread for a while. Accepted from Texas:)

Rejected. However, I’m confused about whether I was considered in the international round of applications or otherwise. The mail says “The competition to attend the Institute was extremely intense with more than 1,500 applications for 50 student admissions.”

Someone make a Facebook group for accepted/alternates!

@greenteacups Congratulations! I’m also a SoCal high schooler but I was rejected :(. What school do you attend and what are your stats?

Did you guys receive an email? I didn’t receive anything yet. Are results only out for US citizens? I’m an international student in China.

About 20 alternates were selected this year

when will the full list of recipients be released?

Accepted!!! So happy! Wasn’t expecting it at all

@JKMSNJ The press release usually comes out in June

@Radiant thanks for the info. My S in sophomore is expecting to apply to RSI next year and wants to get idea what stats of the kids who got in are.

@JKMSNJ Good luck to him!

2017 RSI reject popping in here! I just wanted to say that even if you didn’t get into RSI, keep up the focus on research. I’m a 2018 STS finalist, but was rejected from RSI last year. There are plenty of other great programs, and you can always set up an independent research internship at a university (which for me was an AWESOME experience). RSI isn’t the end-all-be-all, so keep your head up and keep working. Feel free to PM me if you need any encouragement/advice/whatever

@JKMSNJ I got in, and I can give you a brief list of my stats; for more detail, you can always pm me.
