Just lends itself to the fact that Harvard admissions are never absolute, always probabilistic.

I haven't seen a RSI scholar who was rejected by Harvard; the worst case is to be deferred.

Wasn't there some RSI scholar a few years ago (I suppose all rickoids know this story now) who was such a jerk that he deep-sixed his college chances during the program by teeing off everyone? Or am I remembering an apocryphal story?

Can anybody exaplin what is the term "Rickoid"?

Rickoid=someone who attends/attended RSI.

never heard anything like that.

lol yea i believe i know who you're talking about...probably shouldn't go into details though. but oh, if you only knew :P

tell me the story; i want to know!

ya me 2!!!!!

plzzzzzzzzzzz, anybody? i want to hear the story

Some kid was a jerk to the nice people who run RSI. As a result, he (/she?) didn't get into MIT. That's probably all anyone will tell you (and it's all I know).

oh how the story twists and turns into legends.

so, anyway. Did the RSI send in the notification letter earlier than March 31 last year?

What do you think they will do this year?

i remember on the old forum there was a guy who said he got rejected from MIT despite attending RSI but he said that he got good recs from rsi ppl and that he has some sort of 'unique' situation. n e one remeber this?

yea i think that was ecismyhome. go search him up on the old board.

to puddinggirl, last year RSI sent in the notification letter on pi day (if ur applying to RSI u must know when pi day is :))

MIT denied him admission for a very particular reason and matt mcgann even explained it to him personally, so he understood quite well why MIT couldn't accept him. It doesn't matter what the reason was because he is happily at Yale right now.

yeah, he's reviewing rap for the Herald: http://www.yaleherald.com/article.php?Article=4079

Via private message I have learned that I may indeed have heard a story that wasn't completely accurate in the first place. And the story that I am partially remembering, which may not have been accurate to begin with, may or may not have anything to do with what is being discussed in the thread here. So let's leave the point at this: it is, theoretically, possible for someone accepted to RSI to not be accepted at [insert name of highly desirable school here], but that's not something to lose sleep over.

i like tokenadult's view. why does it matter if a rickoid doesn't get into blank college. we're humans too.

Rickiods? Humans? I think not!
