I applied to both RSI and the NIH internship program, and it would be great to hear your thoughts on which would be a better choice for this summer (in the best-case scenario in which I am accepted to both). Specifically, I'm interested in which will "look better" AND which is a better experience. This summer I'll be a rising senior, and housing is not an issue for the NIH program. Thanks so much for your help!

housing isnt an issue??? i will be a rising senior too and im doing the intership this summer...where are u staying...personally i think nIH is much more presitigous because you are working with amazing scientists and could even be published

I am not sure which one is a better experience...I applied to both this year...but for sure RSI is much more prestigious because its harder to get into than NIH

It depends on what you want to do. I think that RSI will be more of an independent research program while NIH is more structured, learning with an NIH scientist. I personally am doing NIH this summer and cannot wait!

With NIH you have the prospect of being published (of course if you do something worthy of publication), so that is a HUGE bonus!

Thanks for the input, guys!

tikibu - I'm staying with a relative.
