<p>RSI is a competitive summer research program at MIT for rising seniors. Prospective applicants must submit essay responses to several questions, standardized testing scores, recommendations, and a copy of the high school transcript (There may be other materials as well). They have recommended PSAT scores, but I have heard of students being admitted even if they don’t have a score above the recommended threshold.</p>

<p>The site states that anyone who presently has one year remaining in high school before graduation, may apply.</p>
<p>Under the “Research Science Institute” subtab of the “Programs and Initiatives” menu, you should be able find the answers to any questions you have.</p>
