Rsi

How much of a boost does RSI give applicants? How do people get into that (I know they apply, but what makes 1 kid stand out in those apps)? It seems like it is just as selective as college admissions (based on the people that participate in it). I had never heard of it. Too bad, I guess.

actually, RSI is more selective than college admissions, by far. 5% admit rate.

Still, there are some RSI kids who get deferred and eventually waitlisted at Harvard...

yea but an 70% acceptance rate is a tad better than the general admit rate

that is true. however my point was that it's certainly not a guarantee of anything, although I myself don't understand why.

Looking at the data this year, it seems like the only school that deferred Rickoids was Harvard. It's not a guarantee to Harvard, but it's almost a guarantee to any other school.

What gets kids accepted into that? How many apply and how many are admitted?

lotta reasons why kids are accepted into it. 50 rickoids out of app 1100-1200 applications

I've read that you said it was extremely hard to get in from the northeast. Do you have any idea about the # of (qualified) applicants there were from Illinois?

damn canada for not being a participating nation...><

wat's RSI ? The one i know has something to do with frequent typing, but don't think it has any relevance to this thread...

go to high school forum. there is a thread called "Research Science Institute 2005" with app 800 posts.
