How do you get accepted into RSI?

If there was a definite answer to this question, it wouldn't be so prestigious, now would it?

All I've seen are people who work extremely hard and ENJOY the challenge, and who pursue their passion in science for their own good, not for RSI or college. I bet even if they were to be rejected by RSI, many of the "rickoids" would have continued whatever they were doing, whether its research or internships, RSI or no RSI.

Just my opinion.

I got into RSI this year, but you get in by being extremely motivated in the science and mathematics fields. You should show evidence of research, or extensive math competitions. In my case, I had research to show.

by extensive math competitions would you mean going as far as usamo?

^ That would be one example, yes. There are other science/math related competitions as well, as thatindiandude stated, its about showing a lot of passion, with of course, talent as well.

Utilization of your summer period after your sophomore year is also very important, I've heard.

What topic did you do research in? Also, did you do it under the supervision of anyone?

1 guy and 1 girl always get in from my school.
thatindiandude: Look for Justin Solomon and Lisa Marrone.
