Hey. I just got accepted to Rutgers Pharmacy and Northeastern Pharmacy and are struggling to decide between the two. Just some background I was born and raised in New Jersey but moved to China when I was 7. I've been studying in an international school ever since so I'm not sure if I'm considered in-state. My SAT score was 2040 and GPA was 3.56 (low I know but our school calculates it extremely low.) I'm taking the IB program with a predicted grade of 41/45. Right now I got accepted to Northeastern with a 112k scholarship but none from Rutgers. I know that ranking wise Rutgers is better but other than that I can't really separate one from the other. Could you guys tell me more about either campus so that I could make a better decision?

112k???

I also got accepted into both and just visited Rutgers recently. I felt like Rutgers wasn’t right for me personally. It is a more rigorous program than other 0-6 programs. I’m not sure about northeastern because I have not visit their campus. Rutgers has a huge campus and there seems like many clubs and activities to get involved with. I have a friend that goes there and is a first year student and is still completing her preprofessional years. She says it is pretty difficult but if you study you can get through. The drop out rate is pretty high compared to other 0-6 programs. However, she says that most students drop to join to pre med or other programs because pharmacy just isn’t right for them. But there are a few who fail completely. She also says that sometimes she feels as if the teaching she receives does not reflect how much she pays. From the way she describes, some of the teachers there are terrible, just as any university though. When I visited the university, it was huge compared to the other universities I visited. It has an older feeling and more traditional setting and classroom than other the 0-6 schools I’ve been to such as MCPHS and URI. Overall, if you are searching for a vigorous program with many activities and clubs, Rutgers is the fit for you! Sorry I do not know too much about Northeastern. However, if you recieved a 112k scholarship, go for that school!!!
