rugby club

is anyone or does anyone know someone on the rugby team? i go to stonybrook right now as a GT and i play there, and i really want to play for cornell because i heard they were really good.

bump......

i second the question...

my gf is on the women's rugby team. maybe she might know something.

i have a friend on the guy's intramural rugby team. the practices aren't very frequent (a few times/week) and they got to go to great britain to play over spring break. sorry, that's all the info i know.

btw for anyone interested, the rugby club is NOT an intramural. most colleges play other colleges, and cornell happens to be a D1 rugby club, although it isn't associated with NCAA.

i played for stonybrook and it is alot of fun, its a very exhilarating sport, and the social faction makes it even more fun. alot of kids join rugby when they go to college. im guessing here its not as big because of the greek life, but at stonybrook the party houses were the sports houses off campus so the rugby house was a big deal, as was the social part of the rugby club

so thats why i was just wondering how big the rugby club is.. and obviously its not lol

oh and btw im a girl, so shizz if you know anything about the WOMENS rugby team that would be great =)

for rugby they have 2 teams, a and b. b team is the developmental team and usually plays before the a team. both travel a bunch and have games many weekends in fall and spring. its a club so if you cant make a practice it isnt a huge deal. but if you want to be on the A team you want to get as good as possible and practice with the guys in order to get a starting position. a team practices 6 days a week in the afternoons. there is an informational meeting in the fall that youll def hear about. try to go to the activities fair at barton during orientation week.

awesome thanksss.

you should write for the schools website or something ;)

WOAH, CMB I was on the men's rugby team at SBU (only for 1 semester as a freshman). It was fall 05 and I'm a GT to CALS also. Small world. Had to give it up because of school committments. I was thinking about the Cornell Rugby team but its a big committment and would take a lot of time.

whaaatttt i was there from fall '05- spring '06, and from the beginning too. i have to know you, pm me your name lol.

all i personally know about the team is that there an A team, which is like varsity, and a B team which is like jv. they play a lot of teams in the upstate NY area like binghamton (their biggest rivals), and they usually go to at least one out of state tournament.

if you have specific questions, i can relay them otherwise i really dont personally know that much.

anyone can PM me about rugby, i dont play now but did for a few weeks before my knee was too bad (i hurt it bad in HS football). I know a good amount and really enjoyed it. the team is great, and has great spirit.

are you gonna play this year?

no, i stopped because i hurt my knee really bad in football during highschool and it was getting really swollen/painful during rugby. i would have loved to play though, the team is great.
