I will not be able to type my ap exams because of a hand injury but I will be able to hand write them (I hurt my non-dominant hand). I don’t want to have to read the questions on my phone however, so I’m planning to have them pulled up on my computer. At the end I’m planning to take a picture of my work on my phone and then send it to my computer so I can submit it. I don’t see why this wouldn’t be allowed, but I was confused by the directions. If I open the exam on a computer, am I required to type my answers? Or is submitting a photo like I’m planning to do allowed?
If you are taking a english/history exam, you are able to upload a photo of handwritten responses. There is an online practice to get familiar with the format of uploading your responses. If it is a math/science test, I don’t know what the format is but you should reach out to collegeboard or a college counselor to ask what to do in your situation.
Thanks this was helpful!
I believe you may hand write your answers. I am not sure if a photo taken from your cell phone is acceptable. They might have other software requirements to prevent cheating. For that, you should ask the College Board or your school’s AP coordinator. Don’t take a public message board as gospel, especially with a potentially important exam. My daughter has found the College Board’s online review sessions to be very helpful in explaining everything. They have practiced and gone over the upload process. They’re worth the time, and she has watched them faithfully. Melinda Gates spoke to the AP CSA kids today. ?
Thanks! I ended up asking my teacher and I found out it is acceptable.
