Rumor I heard about admissions??

People around my school are saying that even though the application deadline is Dec 15, the earlier you turn in your application, the bigger chance you might get accepted (only a slight increase in chance). And also you will be notified of your acceptance earlier. Also, the more likely you are to recieve more scholarships.

I don't really believe this but there is no harm in asking if anyone can confirm or deny this rumor.

You can calm the rumors down at your school with this article:

[uwnews.org | UW moves to new admissions process | University of Washington News and Information](http://uwnews.org/article.asp?articleid=58381)

rumor is false (starting with next fall’s admissions)

And from a logical standpoint, the job of the admissions department is to build the “best” freshman class they can from the applicant pool. I doubt that “getting your application in early” is a factor in their decision process. If you have everything ready to go, then I don’t see any reason to wait, but I wouldn’t rush your application just to be early, if you could use the extra time to polish your responses.
