Okay, listen up XC and track runners because I've got a question:

Is it possible to shave three minutes off one's 3-mile time by August 15? I know it's too late to be recruited for college (I'm a rising senior) but I think that if I improve enough, I can list my time somewhere on my college app and make them go, "WOW! She really improved, so let's admit her!" (<--Obviously it's not THAT easy) Unlikely to happen I know, but I'm still hopeful...

uhh....if your original time really sucked cause you were out of shape or new to the sport then maybe....but if you are already in decent shape and know how to run a race then 3 minutes is probably not possible in that short of time.....but then again im just basing this of what what i know for the mile.....one minute for the mile is alot

that would depend on your time now. on my high school's xc team, this one boy took off 10 min in his 5k time last season. but then again, he was in horrible shape to begin with and started out with a 30 min and went down to 20 min.

i agree with the above poster, if you are already in good shape, taking off 3 min would be very hard.

Put rockets on your shoes and take some LSD so you feel no pain.

Seriously; you should consider studying and improving on the SATs during the summer which might help you a lot depending on the school and your current SATs.

It seems like you already know how to run so 3 minutes would probably not be possible unless you did something unorthodox.
