Runners?

Any runners on board? Im sure of a few as ive seen them in your ec's.

3 years varsity track
2 years XC
10 years running

haha I did track last yr... I quit this year heh.

me...used to run all the time until i ran the houston half marathon in january. now im taking a break and lifting weights more.

i do track...sprints, long jump, and triple jump.

I do xc and track...but suck at both :P

I used to run on my own 3 miles a day, 6 days a week.

Then I stopped. Now my calves are squishy. Ive got to start up again lol.

I'm a runner!

I'm glad track has started!

I run xc and track and I used to pretty good. Unfortunately I took two seasons off to work and my 5k time dropped down two minutes because of it. Hopefully I'll get back up there next year.
I have noticed a disproportionately high number of runners and tennis players on this site.

trizzack all the wayyyy. 200 meter runner and shotputter, thinking of getting into the 400 this year b/c my speed for 200 just isn't that great. probably do xc next year too.

i love track.

I love XC. We have such a great team dynamic, and my coach actually cares about more than the top ten runners (we have just less than 100 girls on the team). I'm motivated to run and push myself.

On the other hand... I. HATE. TRACK. The coach literally does not care about anyone save the few varsity distance runners/sprinters. At the beginning of practice, he literally turns to the other 100+ girls and says, "Just form your own groups and make up a work-out." And, in addition to this, I just feel like I'm not DOING anything. Everyone in my group always wants to do as little work as possible. I, on the other hand, signed up for track to stay in shape (wow, what a novel idea). So, I end up doing three 100ms after waiting after school and stretching for twenty (!!!) minutes... and then I get to wait for an hour for my mom to come pick me up. I finally just (unofficially) quit winter track, and stopped coming altogether. I still got credit for it, somehow!

I've now decided just to run 3 miles every day on my own. No spring track for me!
