Running for Class President

It seems as though running for an office at my school is just a popularity contest. Almost everyone who is elected is a cheerleader. Yep.... I really want to run this year but I know I don't have a chance. What should I do?

Run, if nothing else, you can shake things up, be different, go in with an idea to change the status quo...if you don't win, it would be the same as if you didn't run

Nothing wrong with cheerleaders, its just they have a way of "taking" things over in some schools because its the way its always been, and people can get snowed by the "glamor' of some cheerleaders, and before anyone slams me, I am sure that some of these people really do a good job and care about the school, but come on, it IS a popularity contest in most schools, and those in power intimidate others into not running against them...

I would bet at that school, alot of people don't run because the "dont have a chance"...being socially bullied by the "chosen" ones

So, I would run, have lots of ideas, give it a shot- bey you will get some votes, and by being brave enough to run, you may give other people the guts to run as well

Many people just vote the same way every year because that is what they have always done, out of lazines and not having any imginations, a fresh face could be a very could thing

You need to be tough, fair, have a goal, but don't let the turkeys get you down, by saying, you can never win....

You should run, do your best, have fun, be strong, and enjoy yourself...the final result , eh, don't worry about it

I ran and didn't win. Would I repeat the experience? Probably. It's not like it was painful or anything, and I ended up being thrilled with the person who did win (a really nice guy, not "smart" in the way that most CC people are smart, but intelligent and not shallow).

Give it a shot. It's just one of those things you have to do so you feel more confident about yourself =)
