Running for student council......Need Help!!!

Hi. Okay so my high school has school council elections coming up soon and I'm really nervous. I'm in the 11th grade and I'm running for fundraising coordinator. I chose it because I though that nobody else will, but apparently I was wrong. I have 2 people running for the same post. One of them is a really popular cheerleader and the other is just someone that everybody likes. And me.....Im just quiet and some people even think I'm weird.
I know I'd be good for the job because I'm the chief-editor of the school newspaper and I'm the fund-raising coordinator of of DECA(a business club), but nobody else knows that.
I might not be a social flower but I have friends in grade(9-12).

Still I need campaigning ideas and tips on what I should site for my speech.
Thanks!

Be more social. Even if you aren’t enjoying it, be social for at least till the election. Even if you feel uncomfortable being that social, just remind youself it’s only till the election. Also if you’re editor in chief of the paper then I’m sure that plenty of people know you even if you don’t know them (atleast that’s how it is at our school.)

Good Luck
From a Sophomore Class treasurer who is most likely much more social than you but isn’t really popular

Yeah, if your school is anything like mine, you’ll win if you’re popular. Try to be more social and funny to people you’re trying to win the vote from. In high school, its just a popularity contest, since in reality a lot of positions don’t really do anything.
