Running Start/Upper Division Admission

I'm currently enrolled in the Running Start program at a local community college and expect to have 90 transferrable credits and an A.S. degree in Pre-Engineering by the time I graduate high school in June. It appears that the UW will accept my credits given that both my unofficial transcript and confirmation slip in my welcome packet show me as being a junior. However, my major is listed as "Pre-Engineering" as opposed to my intended major of Computer Engineering, suggesting that I probably haven't been direct-admitted to the CSE department. I realize I won't officially know until the letters go out in April, but if I'm not direct-admitted, can I still apply to the CSE department through upper division admission? I've checked UW's course equivalency site and have confirmed that I have fulfilled all the prerequisites for applying through this method.

Yes, you can apply through upper division! We have plenty of running start (non-direct admit) students in the CSE department.

Also, I’m assuming you’ve already taken up to the equivalent of CSE 143. If not, you can also apply for accelerated admissions as well if you are in the top ~10% of your CSE 143 class.
