rus 506 (first year russian I)

HELP!

i selected this russian class. its a 5 hour class.
i dont have any pre-knowledge of russian.
and it is not required in my degree plan.
i just chose it because all the classes i want were closed or restricted.

i just want to know if i can survive the class with a A or B.

I took Russian in college after having Spanish in high school, and loved it. I thought the Cyrillic alphabet was going to be a hurdle, but by the end of the first week I knew it in print and cursive. My biggest difficulty was with cases. I had never heard of cases before, and Russian has 6 of them. I learned a lot about English grammar by taking Russian. I ended up taking five semesters of Russian before I had to stop – as I got closer to graduation I ran out of time in my schedule.

I would check over your degree plan and see if there are ANY other classes you can take. Like seriously.

Russian at UT is a GPA killer since it’s 5 credits and one of the hardest languages offered. It’s not a class you take just because it’s open.

And if you don’t need it for your degree it makes no sense at all to take it.

thank u guys for replying.

today one of my waitlisted class became open and swapped the russian class, so now i dont have russian anymore

but still, thank u guys anyways :)
