RU's Stongest Majors

So RU's Stongest Majors are:

-Pre-med
-Engineer
-Music
-Biology
-Economics
-Political Science
-Optics

Basically RU is strong in math and science. Agree with this list? Any additions to this list? WHAT HIGH-PAYING JOBS CAN I GET WITH EACH OF THESE MAJOR's?

American Sign Language and Psychology are also very strong

First of all, it's UR (University of Rochester) not RU (Rutgers University).

Second, with that kind of attitude - You WON'T get a high paying job regardless of major (unless you're into business or something), not to mention the most rewarding jobs of those fields are not high-paying jobs - they're academic jobs.

You shouldn't base a job on how well it pays- rather on how much you enjoy it.

honestly, that's not true. Say someone lives below the pverty line and cannot afford for their basic needs. However, this individual is very smart, very driven, and finds good in whatever they do. Obviously they'll do well in college and they'll be happy pursuing any career. Why would they not want to get a high-paying job to provide for themselves and their family?

There are multiple sides of any scenerio-- we shouldn't judge others according to their values, especially because we may not be getting the whole story.

Not degrading anyone or their comments-- I really am just saying that the OP may not simple want to get a job that can pay for 50 yachts. And even if they do, that's their perogative...

I heard that their English and Film departments are really good as well. Any truth to that?

The english department is amazing. This semester I had two classes Shakespeare with Professor Gross, and The Outsider with Professor Tuckers. Both classes not only had an intellectual depth to them, that I never experienced in a class before, but were very engaging, discussion orientated and life changing. Nearly all if not all the professors are amazing. Last semester in my Dante class of 50 kids, while technically not an English class, though cross listed as one, the professor knew all the students by name, face, and ideas. Even this semester in Shakespeare, in a class of 40, Gross knew pretty much everyone individually and even tailored his lectures to match our intrigues.

how about business?

Business (Simon) is grad only. Econ major is closest fit...
