Rush deliver?

Can I rush deliver my letters of recommendation? My counselor FORGOT to send in her rec to all my schools and the deadline is January 15.
I will feel a lot better if I rush deliver considering it took them 2 weeks to receive my transcript and I don't even know if she'll send it before the break.

I don't care how much it costs, is it possible to do it?

yes it is if the colleges don't use P.O. boxes... send them federal express/ups/dhl ... whatever. but i would call the schools and find out if you can.

i'd suggest to look for a new counselor, but i guess it's too late...

sue the counselor

It is definitely possible to do it.

USPS - USPS - Mailing Products & Services

there's overnight delivery for 16.25

But seriously man, the mail just has to be "POST MARKED" by January 15th. What are you scared about? you have like 1 month just to put it in the damn mail.

Use DHL. It's great!

yeah, it just had to be post marked by that date? my counselor's going to the states on the 20th and sending it out from there. deadlines range from jan 1 - 15. don't worry.

I think I just got a bigger problem to worry about...

I have 2 teacher recommendations. She sent the ORIGINAL to some other school that didn't even need it. The other one already got sent but I really want to send the second one. So, I'm just doing it behind her back, I don't care. I've had the teacher for 2 years, so I am going to tell him my situation, give him envelopes, and beg him to make copies and send it out. What do I have to put for the return address?

I feel like crying right now. Apparently she sent her original counselor recommendation too..so she had to make a photocopy of a photocopy. I offered to bring in another form but she said it's fine.

HELP!!!!!!!!!! =(

I have a counselor so much like yours... He forgets to send transcripts, loses things. At one point he almost sent the common application reccomendation form to Brown (who isn't common app.). I could've killed him. So I'm doing what you are -- going behind his back and doing it myself. I'm having him put together the only three important things that he has (school report, transcript, and ONE teacher recommendation sheet) and give it to me to mail myself.

We shouldn've have to be worrying about getting accepted AND our counselors...

Ladies and gentlemen, I suspect the adcoms have seen it all, nice letterhead pages and crumpled copies of a copy. And I also suspect that in this case, the substance is more important than the form. It is not an art contest.

Absolutely true about postmarks for the vast majority of schools. However, there are some schools that require all materials to be recieved by their deadline. Do not waste your money on FedEx, but do put 3 stamps on a 9X12 envelope with 1-2 sheets of paper inside.

it took them 2 weeks to receive my transcript

A first-class letter crosses the country in less than 5 days. It took the admissions office several days to get through the piles of their mail, sort everything into neat folders and log everything into their computer.
