RUSH ends with 1688 bids

587 Alabama girls received bids…you can do the math as to the OOS number of girls.

Let’s just say a majority of them hail from places other than Alabama. If anyone wants, I’ll give the number of girls by state breakdown.

sure! go ahead!

And, 'cause I’m curious about trends…how does this compare with last year (OOS v instate)?

thanks. interesting!

Being from Illinois we were very nervous about recruitment. But D had an amazing experience and had a full card after every set of cuts. She found everyone she came in contact with to be polite and very proud of both their Houses and of the University. Many girls from the Honors College rushed and there was always a large group of them walking from RCS to Sorority Row.

She got her first pick and was wisked away to a spa for 2 days of education and bonding with her new sisters.

I was very impressed with the entire process and wish I could go back to college!

Here is comparative data for last year – looks very similar when you take into account that a greater number of students – both instate and out of state – went through rush this year. (Sorry for the less than beautiful formatting – left column is 2011, right column is 2012)

Actually really interesting to see that Illinois almost doubled in membership and Indiana almost tripled.

The Midwest is really finding out about Bama and embracing Southern life.

As a college advisor from The Garden State of NJ, I am very pleased with these numbers… NJ more than tripled year over year

A far cry from the horror stories of Alabama sorority rushing portrayed on national TV a bunch of years ago…
