Rush for World History, anyone?

OMG!! I always miss like 30 questions when doing practice tests. Noo.... :(
I'm cramming barron again, plus two history books. But I seem to have lost the ability or willingness to read! God help me. BTW, why is my score on literature always about 690?? Wish I could get over 700. sigh....

Sorry, this is just a complaint thread. xD

Is SAT World History hard? I am thinking of either taking US His or World His in December SAT II test, but I can not make a right decision! How are you going to read that wordly Barron’s prep book within week?

I’m reading Barron too, on page 290 right now; cramming like 20 pages per day.

Mansu007: I think it really depends. I heard that World History questions are totally random, if you know much of everything in the Barron’s, you should be good. That’s at least how I felt when I did some practice test on the College Board online, most of my knowledge came from the Barron’s, but I do admit that they are really specific and random, so it’s like you need to know every single details of it, though the curve is very lenient.
I don’t know about U.S. history, but just heard that it has a harsh curve.

Just choose the one that you think you’ll do confident at, that’s all I can tell you. Good luck :)

I took the SAT World History test last year, and I miraculously scores a 790 on it. I thought I had missed 30 questions, but according to scoring charts, I had missed about 9-10. What my point is, is that you might feel a little anxious about how many questions u are missing on the practice tests, but if u have an aptitude for world history, you’ll be just fine. I’ve heard for some years’ tests, u can miss 7-8 for an 800 and other years’ tests u can miss like 11-12. It’s a difficult test, one of the hardest I’d say, but study for it and u’ll do just well like me!

And yes, the questions are random questions from any aspect of the world’s history. These questions may cover topics not addressed in normal AP world history courses, such as nobel laureates, David Livingstone’s expeditions, and Shinto spiritual leaders: these were all topics that showed up on last year’s test.

That’s the problem with this subject test (as in, it’s so hard)…given the nature of World History itself, there’s such a huge variety of things which can be tested on…

-Yea, I’m trying to get ready for the subject test. Finished the AP course (school ended yesterday).

Lol, I don’t even have nobel laureates, David Livingstone, NOR Shinto spiritual leaders in my giant Barron’s book… :(

Do you remember if there’s anything about Bible and literature?
And did you had really specific questions like who is the author of… and such…

Did you think the test was hard… since you got 790, that’s a really good score!

I go to a british school, and I dont take History as one of my subjects anymore. Is world history still possible to get a 750+ score on from just books? for the May or June exam

I got an 800 and I took the exam a full year after AP World History. By the time I took SAT II World History, I had to basically relearn everything haha.
I think that Barron’s AP or SAT World History do a fantastic job. I would recommend solving as many multiple choice questions as possible.

Best of luck guys!
