Hi, Does anyone know which schools accept/don't accept rushed scores for SAT I and SAT II tests? I.e. USC, Northwestern, Case Western, Drexel University, Rice, University of Connecticut, Saint Louis University.

I don’t think rushed scores are a problem for any school. It is just College Board speeding up the process for sending out your score. Its like express shipping/mail. Although not 100% sure.

I used to think that as well, but I have heard that many colleges do not accept rushed scores. Why they don’t accept these scores, I don’t know!

Because the rush scores aren’t considered “official” for some reason. Call the school and ask before you pay for it. MANY colleges do not accept them.

mciasto- I have already sent 2 rush scores to 2 separate schools. In both cases, my application status showed that the scores were received, but I did not check to see if they accepted them beforehand.

Is there a list of schools that don’t accept them?

There is no list anywhere for showing which schools accept and don’t accept rush scores. Go to the admissions website for each and search for what they say about rushed scores. If they don’t accept them they will say so on the site.

A significant issue is why bother. As some of the schools say on their sites, they don’t want rushed scores because it actually takes them longer to get and process those scores than if you just send them regular delivery because they have electronic account delivery of scores sent regular delivery. To a great extent CB’s rush delivery is just a way for CB to make more money and it does not result in scores actually being delivered faster when colleges have (all or almost all do now) electronic delivery. The usual advice to folloow is don’t send rush unless college actually says you should do so.

drusba: I called up the schools I’m applying to, and most were surprised I even asked about rush scores. They don’t seem to have any preference, but do rushed scores really take longer to process? How so?

I sent my scores in rushed to a school that supposedly doesn’t accept rushed scores, and guess what? They accepted it! you will not be penalized so don’t worry
