Hey,

So I transfered to Cornell in the fall, and I am going through with recruitment. From what I have heard, it is very hard to get into sororities as a sophomore. I was wondering if anyone had any further knowledge on this, tips, experiences, or could name some of the sororities that they know in the past have accepted sophomore transfers.

Thanks so much!

It wasn’t that hard when I was a student but I rushed as a freshman. I remember taking a few transfers during January rush. The key is to get to know people in class and through activities. Not sure what the policy is now, I believe they’ve switched to fall formal rush for everyone rather than informal fall, formal spring. Formal rush is much easier because everyone goes to every house, and then is cut from there.

I can tell you that going Greek at Cornell is terrific and you won’t regret it. I still stay in touch with my sisters and my house.
